Timbuktu - ( http://www.netopia.com/software/products/tb2/ ) it's cross platform - you can get Mac versions and Windows versions and use a mac to control a PC and vice versa. Ports may need to be opened on your router. You may also use Remote Desktop (if you have XP Pro) on the Windows PC as well as a VNC Variant ( www.realvnc.com , www.ultravnc.com , www.tightvnc.com ) GoToMyPC is just Windows I believe.

Depends on a lot of things, such as the type of Internet access you have at home, whether or not your ISP even allows such a setup, and what you wish to do with or on your network remotely.

There's a program called "GoToMyPC" ! I think that may help you out ! Just go to google and do a search ! I'm not sure how much it costs but you can try it for free for 30 days !

Completely free personal version. Of course you will need to know the IP address of your PC (I don't think they do Mac versions but check it out just incase).

RealVNC works very well over 56k modems too.
