Try to find out what you are special in and learn that work and become an expect in that. I'm sure you'll become great in that sector. The difficult part is to find out what you are specially great in.

I am really sorry. I know you feel like your whole world just ended. But it really didn't. This is just another thing to overcome. Try and look at it as an opportunity, instead. OK. Look into going to a Tech school. Go there and finish a course. You can work and save money for school while you are doing it. After you have actually finished the course, re-apply to college. When they see that you have completed a course and did ok, they will see that you have the ability and the drive to succeed. That could play a big part in their decision to accept you. Do not give up--it CAN happen. Look into this option, dry your tears, and go talk to your folks. They still love you. And good luck!

Well, first thing's first:
1) I hope that your grammar is better when writing an application letter or form to the school than when you write your questions on Answers. If you haven't accompanied your application form with a letter explaining why you should be accepted into the college...think about it. It's just like applying for a job.

2) What college are you applying for? If it's an Ivy League school...you're going to need top notch credentials to be accepted. That means letters of recommendation from teachers, a flawless grade point average WITH honors classes, and perfect ACT &/or SAT scores. Even if the college is simply a private college that's somewhat reputable for its successful or wealthy graduates (like Baylor, Lyon, Notre Dame, etc.) you're going to need more than an application form.

3) It may be that you are simply the wrong race...if you're white, they may need more minorities, or if you are a minority, they may already have their quota reached and they need another minority. I know it sounds wrong, but your credentials are going to be what they are looking at more than your race, and if someone of another race has the same credentials as you and you've both done exceptional work...and they have very few of the other person's race applying or making the cut, they will be chosen.

4) If you really want to get into college, you're going to have to apply nearly everywhere...from community colleges to state universities. I suggest that you let your parents know about your dilemma and tell them that you would like to get into college very much. If your high school guidance counselor didn't speak to you about college and you are on good terms with him/her, see if you can make an appointment for some help, and get a letter of recommendation. If you are able to get to the college you applied to and your heart is set on that college, ask to speak to someone that can help you in your application process. Usually there will be someone on hand who does nothing but guide applicants through the process. Make appointments and be punctual.

That's all I've got to say. Good luck.

Hey ,

the same thing happened to me. You need to keep trying it will come .. Just remember everything happens for a reason.. you may not See it now but it will show sometime or the other. Keep applying in the mean while get a job but don't give up on your dream. Also go to your parents and let them know don't wait until last minute.. they love you and will understand .. its not your fault you didn't get accepted .keep your head up and keep trying.. also if you can't get into a university or college try applying to a community collegetop get you started their easier to get in to and then you can transfer your credits .. make sure the school u apply to can transfer the credits.. GOOD LUCK and look to the sky!
