if you really think you can pull off a character then go for it.it doesn't matter what others think,what matters is that you have fun! i'm over weight and i went as kikyo to a convention

Dude, I regret 10 years ago putting on a star trek costume for a scifi convention. You may one day regret this.... Go to the convention, Have fun. Just remember tat you will have to continue living with yourself after you realize how geeky you are right now.
I still consider myself a geek even after all these years. but I still regret that captain's uniform.

it depends on the type of convention. just do what you want and have fun. no regrets. life isnt worth living unless you can have some fun along the way. one day you will laugh about it.

isn't cosplay mostly in Japan? o.o if your in the USA like me, but a ticket to japan...
