Today is my due date and I may be in early labor...I have had a toothache for several days and REALLY need some pain relief but I've heard that Tylonol could stop labor or keep it from comming on. Is this true?

No it will not alter labour in anyway. Consider the very strong painkillers given to mothers in labour...tylenol is no match!

Take something for your toothache so you can rest and be ready for labour and birth...how exciting!!

Wishing you a fantastic birth.

Tylenol should be 100% safe for you now. If you're not sure if you're in early labor you can try a few things to "test" it. First you need to time contractions. If they're not getting closer or more intense with time, it's false labor. Try eating something and/ or walking around for a bit. If the contractions stop, then you were in false labor. Also, sleep on it. I had false labor on a Friday, I ate and walked and ate some more, and nothing stopped. But the contractions weren't getting worse or closer together. So I went to bed and decided to see what happened. The next morning I woke up and it had stopped. Of course, Sunday, I went into labor for real! Those contractions were MUCH worse than the ones from a couple of days before! Hope it helps! Good luck and congratulations!

If today is your due date then it's not considered early labor. It's only early labor if you're not full term. I've never heard that Tylonal will stop labor. If the baby is ready to come out then I doubt over the counter pain relievers are going to make it second guess it's self.

I have never heard of that. You should go ahead and take the Tylenol. It will help you relax, which will help your labor go faster.
