Physically scrubbing works best, but time will remove it all. You'll see the most residual in the cuticles, which will indeed wear off too. Next time, get a set of latex gloves and double them up!

Comet or ajax works, but it is slow going. If there is none in your house, you could add lots of soda to a liquid soap and make a thick paste in a bowl, then scrub, scrub, scrub like you've never scrubbed before...

Dharma Trading sells Reduran - a german product that gets those really nasty red dyes off your skin, but it very strong and feels like it is hot on your skin when you are using it. It does work - used it to get some black off just yesterday.

Try the kitchen cleaner, Comet. Make sure you wash it all off your hands before touching anything though.
