Hey, my 18 month old loves when we read Violet's House By Julie Aigner-Clark. she is the lady from the Baby Einstein video series which are also awesome by the way! The book has lots of little things for the baby to touch, each with a different texture. it is not like other touch and feel books because it has an actual story, and about four different things to touch and feel on each page. I got it for about $10 at Toys R Us. I think she will love it. Our favorite part is the tooooo cool sticky paints!

Does she have a favorite cartoon? Maybe find some books with the character(s) she likes. My personal favorite to read to my 9 month old is Love You Forever. He's more interested in getting it into his mouth than hearing what's coming out of mine, though!

Popcorn...was a daytime favorite. I think it was from the parent's magazine book club. It is about a little animal ( I think a bear) who parents go out to the movies, he invites all of his friends over for a party and tells them to bring something, they all bring popcorn. Well they make the popcorn and keep making it until the house is full. So he starts eating and eating and barely finishes eating athis house load of popcorn and goes to bed.
His parents get home and wake him up to tell him that they brought it something from the movies.....POPCORN!
Dr. Seuss ABC's was popular, for some reason, Googoo Goggles was the funny one.
And night time, the last book was always Good NIght Moon.

my kids love the books by Eric Carle, especially Brown Bear, Brown Bear. They also like the books about a boy named David (David Gets in Trouble, David Goes to School, etc). My kids range from 9 months to 6 years if that helps.

My son LOVED little Bears Trousers. We got it at a garage sale, for .25 . It is a board book, but really Cute.
I also loved books with lots of colors. I liked to get him board books that were short, and that he could play with. The paper books ended up getting torn.
Great Job reading with her! One of the best ways to spend time.

Every night I read The Going to Bed Book, Counting Kisses, and Goodnight Moon to my 9 month old. She sits through them all without moving and seems to recognize the stories already!
I highly recommend them...

A book that has sounds is good. A touch book is good. Try a book on tape that way why the tape is playing you can turn the pages.
