On gage freon gos on middle hose. Connect low pressure side to low side Schroeder(before tightening bleed air out of hose) open valve start compressor read pressure.Then reverse procedure to disconnect.You should know this if you have a license if not it is illegal for you to have freon.

umm as far as i know this is illegal to do these days unless you have a special license HVAC and have capability to reclaim any freon lost during the process

It is illegal for a person to add refrigerant unless they have a universal refrigeration licence from the EPA. You can get a $10,000.00 fine if caught
