I am a Christian, and the original is one of my favorite movies of all time. I think because it scared the crap out of me when I first saw it, in fact it still does. I didn't want to see the remake, no reason to ruin a good film with a bad remake.
Now having said that, it probably is evil. But darn entertaining.

Actually, it is all three. The end is coming (good); it won't be pleasant for many (bad); and after all it is a movie (just a show).
