Ethernet has no connection to what type of Internet connection you have. It's a networking term that describes how a network is set up. Ethernet ready means the wiring exists for you to establish network connections between all the PC's in your home.

Ethernet is the most common network and wire type for Local Area Networks, and also how DSL and Cable routers usually connect to your computer. An "ethernet ready house" means that a network is already in place, or atleast the wires.

I means that the house has a computer network already installed with a available network connection in each apratment. So you will not need to have Yahoo dsl anymore. You will be getting Internet access and the ability to share files and play multiplayer games with the other people in your building as part of the rent.

I agree with Jeanhack42 it indicates the house has Cat 5 cabling and all wires go to a central location where theres probably a HUB. ie in each room there is a port which you can plug your PC into a bit like a TV port which you plug your telly into. What you need to do is order the DSL or ISP connection which has an RJ45 port which you can patch your hub or cable from whatever room your PC is in and connect to the internet.
Bottom line is you will need to fork out for the ISP connection.

from what I know an ethernet cable is just a safer version of an internet cable so it probably means that you don't need an ethernet cable to hook up your internet to your computer ,you could simply use an internet cable
