ok so i've heard this phrase "the end of the beginning" on my favorite show. just to give you some background, they're graduating high school and moving on. but i don't get what it means!!!!!

while graduation looks like the ending, it really is just the closure of a first step. the beginning stage of life is done, but there is so much to come - more to explore.

Visualize a baby attempting to walk. He has to begin somewhere between standing and taking that first step. Once he's learned how to coordinate the steps to actually call it walking, it is the end of that particular beginning. Now he's moving on to another beginning and again that will end at some time. I reckon we all go through different stages in life, like the beginning, middle and ending, for example. Our beginning has to end sometime. I guess maybe the beginning ends at age 21.
The end of the beginning probably means that they are well on their way to adulthood, leaving their childhood behind.

"The end of the beginning" would mean that the group is completing their beginning portion of their education. The graduation is not the end of their life; school was the beginning of their adulthood. So, it is the final activity in the beginning of their life.

High school is like the beginning of life as a young adult. Graduation is the end of the first part of your adult life.

it means their moving on, like.. the beginning was highschool, or maybe just childhood in general, and now that's ending but it's the beginning of adulthood... but wait that would be "the beginning of the end" right? ... idk...
