Interesting question.
I think it depends on what the problem is and how much it means to you.

It's definitely better to make the decision and risk it being wrong. Life is an adventure, and an adventure would be no fun if you never took any risks or ventured off of the path. Any time that you make a decision, you are taking a risk. I'm not saying to blindly jump headfirst into a decision. That's rarely the right thing to do. But to not do anything at all? That's not right either. It's important to take calculated risks. Even if it is the wrong decision, life will go on. At that point, you can just say "That was wrong. Where can I go from here?" And you never know- sometimes making the wrong decision can lead to an entirely new adventure.

Depends on what decision you are trying to made. If it's not a big deal, then there is not much harm in making a decision because you won't know if it's right or not until you make that decision, right? If you know that it's going to be a wrong decision, then why make the decision? But if you don't know, then the outcome can be either good or bad. There's no harm in trying like the saying goes, if it's not such a big issue.

Ooh good question:
But the answer depends on the decision being made!!
How will it affect you?
How will it affect others?
Will those effects be positive or negative?
Will I gain or loose from making this decision?
Will I or others benefit from the decision I make?
etc, etc, etc!!
It would be of great benefit to know: what was to be decided upon, to give a more precise answer... But I am personally a great believer in:-
'Nothing ventured: Nothing gained'!!
If you have 'Nothing' to loose by going with the decision, then go for it...if there is a risk..then you have to way up if it will be worth it in the end?
Mr. Sanders (Mr Kentucky Fried Chicken) took his recipe idea to 1000 different outlets before someone gave him a chance... now look at his company today!!
Where would the company be now if he had 'Decided' to give up at the 2nd, 3rd, 4th refusal???
Life is full of risks...sometimes you just have to jump... others you have to wait till you find your parachute... other times you have to say the risks too great!!!
Decisions, decisions, decisions!!!

not making a decision is worse and a cop out.
making a decision, is based on what you know at the time and 9 times out of 10 still carries a risk. But you make it being able to justify the reason for it, having thought it out first, and having considered the alternative. We all makes decisions with the best of intentions hoping that the outcome will be positive.
But avoiding taking the reins and being decisive, in my opinion, is weak and irresponsible

That's a tough one. It's on the same lines as "It's better to have loved and lost than never to have loved at all".
Both could eat you with remorse but life is not always black or white. You could make a decision without going for broke.

Making a decision and it being the incorrect one. That is called experience or learning.
Edison was asked, after an invention which took almost 10,000 tries to succeed, if all his other efforts were wrong or a failure. His answer was he found that many ways the invention wouldn't work.

I would rather remain at stalemate than worry that I made the wrong decision that might have caused me alot of problems down the road.
