My Best guy friend constantly changes, he has told me he hates who he is, but he changes so much, I cant help but be worried. He says that I am the only person he trusts, but lately, (3-4 months) we haven't really talked, I am afraid our friendship is over, but when I ask him about it he says that i am crazy. Sometimes he even lies about who he is to me, even though in past convos he has told me everything. What should I do?

By the way, something I should have added, his dad just died, while in prison in febuary, a day after his 14 birthday

Sounds like a phycho. Be very careful and wean yourself from him. He could be a serial killer.

He does that to you because he knows that you trust him and believe everythng he says. I'll tell you what,try this test of friendship on him -
Tell him you dont want to be his friend anymore. See how he reacts to it. If he desperately tries to hang on to you or threatens to do something harmful, he is a suspected psycho so U need to get rid of him. But if he does not do that, then have a discussion with him and make him reason with you and promise not to lie to you again and give him another chance. But if he keeps lying to you after that, Please get rid of him and make friends that will be productive for you.

He could possibly be becoming skytsophranic.. (sorry dunno how to spell it) my sister is skyts so yea that could be it

I had a friend who i thought i could trust but then she would start lying to me about the most random insignificent things ever!
And i was very mad, it was just like she had a lying problem or something, But sometimes people are insecure and make up stuff about themselves to seem more cool, or popular or what ever it is.
I bet he still wants to be your friend,, but is he intiminated by u? or does he just hate his life and want to change stuff about himself?
think about these things and talk to him about it.
See if anything is bothering him, be there for him it sounds like a tough time for him.

If you have a friend the does this he possible needs to seek counseling if you hates himself. The only thing you can really do is be there for him no matter how he changes. Maybe he is going through something at the moment. You should stay there to support him throughout everything.

That's enough to make anyone change. He probably has very mixed emotions, just stay by his side and be there for him when he needs you.

no he most be going thru a identity crisis, just be a positive about this as you can hey what are friends for, some times people need you more then you need them for the time being
