I don't know, but I think the problem with politics today is that the only vocal ones are the ultra left and the ultra right, leaving the majority of the public in the middle wondering why everyone has gone a little fruity. There are definitely things people can do, even the one person alone. Voting of course makes a difference, sadly answering polls might make even more of a difference then a pole. Personally, I think the best thing you can do to be involved is to be educated in whats going on in your country, in the world, to be able to discuss such things with your friends, and to lead by example. Even if this doesn't change anyones mind or opinion, it will certainly help you sleep at night if you approach your politics in an informed and proactive manor.

I don't hate or necessarily love politics, but I think politics is necessary, and channeling arguments or issues through politics is much better than resolving through violence. Politics has always been part of human society when the first men/women gathered around in a circle and decided who should do what. You can't seperate politics from human nature.
If people paid less attention to things like American Idol and more to politics and the real stuff that's going around in the world today, I'm sure even more individuals would lobby or get involved, and more indviduals could make a difference. Even a small difference is a difference in the world.

I think that the political side of politics has migrated too far away from the personal side of what it's there for. Personally, I think that the more we, as normal people, talk and brain-storm about it, the better off we are in the end.
It is one of the main reasons I threw together an open topic forum site, so people can engage in these conversations more readily (although there are lots of places to do so, out there already).

I don't necessarily hate politics but I do believe as long as we have special interest groups, lobbyists and big corporations lining the pockets of politicians in Washington, we'll never get close to having a fair political system in which all citizens rich, poor, black, white, foreign etc can be heard. The average American citizen can't get his/her voice heard simply because we don't have millions of dollars to plunge into a particular party's coffers.

I think one person can make a difference if they have a group of followers. But I myself steer clear of them, i have my own opinions but people in this world are so set in their ways that they aren't going to give up things or change their opinions.

We all have our own views on the world. when we talk about it, we argue. The best way to make a difference in the world is to pick up your trash, donate and PROTEST!!!!!!!
