Believe it or not they are already actually in four dimensions. They have the three spacial dimensions and add the fourth dimension of time. This can be seen in the way it starts as a flare going into the sky, explodes at the pinnacle into a growing spectacular display of colors and then fizzles out slowly on its way to ground. What I want to understand is the fifth dimension.

All fireworks are three-dimensional, both before and after they explode. If you mean, are there going to be three dimensional fireworks constructs, like Gandalf's dragon in the Lord of the Rings movies, that's another matter entirely. I'm not sure something like that is possible with our current level of technology, and the biggest hurdle to overcome is most probably wind effects. Difficult to build a dragon if the wind smashes it to bits before it's completely put together.

Aren't all fireworks 3 dimensional? 2 dimensional would be flat, like on paper. All 3 dimensional means is that they have depth, which fireworks do, you can tell if one firework is exploding closer to you than another.

Doesn't it seem weird that no matter where you sit to see a 2-dimensional firework, it always seems to face you. How do they know how to position the explosions so they always face people
?

Yes, they're here now, and always have been.
Fireworks occur in real-space. they are already 3D. Perhaps if you explained your question a little better, I could give you a better answer. What would a 3D fireworks display show me that I'm not already seeing?
