It's soooo frustrating, because I wouldn't be getting drive-thru food unless I am in a rush. That means I don't have time to go back and say, "Hey, you got my order wrong. Fix it."

Oh I know! Getting all the way home and finding a wrong order is infuriating!
I have learned to just look in the bag like some others said, I check my bag and I check my receipt before I ever pull away from the window. Lots of these places (BKing fer shur) has a time clock that starts when you place your order and they are trying to get such a good speed record they screw up.

Two nights ago we ordered 40 bucks worth of pizza, (delivered) with EXTRA marinara, and EXTRA Icing for the cinnasticks, I repeated the EXTRA two or three times!
I asked the delivery person if we had the EXTRAS and she said yes, they are in the boxes. But of course 20 seconds later, (After she left with nice fat tip) we discover NO marinara and no extra icing. I called immediately and was told they would send it right out, and we're still waiting!
I would wait 5 extra minutes for pizza if they would just take the time to check the order.
I think once you are home, they know that most people will just sigh and deal with it. If we make it harder on the companies by sitting in the drive-thru an extra 2-3 minutes checking our bags and counting burgers, they may start to get the picture.
Yes, fast food workers are young, and they are not paid a lot, but they will be older, and if they learn young to do their job well, they will be way more successful, and maybe not have to work for McD's forever.
Maybe that's why the only "old" people working in fast food have been there since they were teeny boppers!

One time in paticular I Ordered a Whopper from Burger King at the drive thru, wnent home and starting eating. Now they didnt get my order wrong, however I did find a LONG BLACK (NOT CURLY) hair. WEll Needlesstosay I didnt finish my "meal". The next day I went back to the same store and ordered another whopper and ordered it the same way but instead I asked if the cook with the long black hair could include TWO of his/her hairs on my sandwhich. The girl behind the counter said they couldnt do that--and I told her thats how my burger was the other day. My meal that day was free.

no hair

I agree it's extremely frustrating. Keep in mind that at most fast food restaurants you have teenagers filling your order. They make mistakes if management doesn't stay on top of them. Keep your receipt and call the restaurant, give them your ticket number and let them know what you order and what you received. Most restaurants will give the order to you free on the next visit. They (Management and crew) usually know the minute you've driven away that the order is wrong, but it's hard to chase down a car driving away- so that is why when you place your call, they usually do not give you any problem.
Thanks and good luck

I let it go. I have bigger issues in my life right now. No need complaining about a meal that cost me less than $10!! Alot of the people working in a fast food restaurant are young. They don't need a degree. They are paid minimum wage. What do I expect?
When I pay $40 a plate I EXPECT the best but when I go to McDonald's I get what I pay for!

When that happens to me, I call them as soon as I find out the order is wrong. So when you have that problem again just get there number and call them up and then say hey you got my damn order wrong and I want to get new food or coupons for free food.

I sit at the window and go through my order, Im never in a hurry so I dont mind making the other people in line behind me wait. I haven't eaten fast food since McDonalds got rid of McRib though.

Once I ordered an egg and cheese biscuit and when I pulled up to the pick up window they tried to give me 2 big bags of food. I replied too quickly: "That's not mine! " - oops !

You hope they screwed up and gave you someone's order that has more food in it then you ordered. If not, just say something to them next time you are there.. and peek in the bag before you leave

Call the store manager and explain what happened. Often, they will offer you a free meal for next time. That is usually the quickest and easiest way to handle a complaint.

Nothing. It happened once to me, after that I always checked my order before I leave the window. And several times I was glad that I did, because it was wrong.
