Great Expectations, simply because at the time I was reading it, I could really relate to his struggles with Stella. And it kinda deals with everything a man seeks out of life; money, fame, women, friendship... all in a serious/realistic manner.

I haven't read all of Charles Dickens' novels yet, but I intend to.

I am reading David Copperfield for the second time right now. I love it because the characters seem so alive, so dynamic. I feel that the story is happening right now because David Copperfield makes me feel that he is writing and reacting to his life story at the same time I am actually reading it. I hope that doesn't sound confusing, but I must say this was a most remarkable experience for me.

Also, when I feel the book and the characters in the book are like spending time with good friends of mine, this is a thrilling feeling.

Thanks for your question - it's very good to see that people are still interested in Charles Dickens and his work.

A Tale of Two Cities and A Christmas Carol

They have classic "Dickens" characters - but more or less in minor roles. The story is the important thing in both these books. And both of them have really cool plots.

I have never cared for Dickens' orphan tales. I'm not sure why, but the rags to riches, fawning over Estella and hanging around with thieves and convicts elements just never appealed to me.

My favorite Dickens movie is Great Expectations because it tells of struggles and adversities people must overcome before they can reach the top of life. My favorite Dickens book is A Tale of Two Cities simply because it is enlightening.

I loved David Copperfield, couldn't put it down, also I liked Great Expectations. My favorite movie has to be the old Alistair Sim b/w version of A Christmas Carol. It's the only version that follows the dialog exactly like the book.

Don't remember all of them. Dickens does make good points that are realistic to life. The one book/movie that is most known is A Christmas Carol.

My favorite is "A Christmas Carol." We read it for my book club a few years ago. We decided Scrooge's avarice was his way of proving his worthiness to his father.

I also liked it because Dickens talks about the poor and the destitute. He discusses how the poor and working classes used Christmas (or spent their Christmases) mostly enjoying each other's company. Very little presents/gifts.

I watch it on tv every Christmas. It's part of our holiday traditions.

My favorite Dickens Novel is "Oliver Twist". I am a sucker for good natured orphans who get beaten down by those who are supposed to take care of them.

My favorite is Tale of Two Cities. It has everything adventure, love, sacrifice, heart ache. Just a great book. I especially love the opening paragraph. Really thought provoking.
