I think you've asked a great question but here is a follow up for you. How would you categorize people making statements that they think are true (and therefore aren't lies) but are inaccurate statements just the same?
What about opinions? Opinions can be based on a lot of thought and experience or they can be ill-conceived beliefs formed by taking in what TV or other influences convince you is right.
I think that if the world was honest and truthful with each other, that would be great. But a bigger problem would be alleviated if people weren't as zealous with their opinions and were a little more open to learning. For instance, it's really a shame to see how the bible has been overtaken by zealots and politicians who preach hatred. A good bumper sticker reads: God Save Me From Your Followers. So true.

That's an interesting question. I think the world would be incredibly different!! And as you implied, I think it might cause many problems but if the world started out with everyone telling the truth, it would be okay. Like...because we have lied before perhaps about something we know about someone else, all of that would be revealed if we could not tell lies, but if the world was started the way it was meant to be, those lies that would be revealed would never have been started! Sorry....its kind of confusing, I hope you can understand!

A lot of Hate and Resentment maybe. A world war, a little to far fetched for imagination. After all if everyone was honest what is their to fight about? You would know all of the enmies tactics, so if there ever was a war it wouldnt last long.

Well, after something happened to me, I lied all the time, didn't really care who I hurt, just as long as I made it in the clear. But, then I promised myself that I wasn't going to lie, ever again. And, I don't, I guess it's because I always want the truth even if it hurts.

Ossama Bin Laden would be a goat, Saddam Hussein a snake, and the world would be better off not knowing of them.

I don't know about a world war, but I suspect that a lot of marriages would end.

Life is not scary. Life is what you make it. If no one lied, we would finally have world peace. Face it, you know it's true!
