Yes, if video evidence after a game shows diving elbowing etc, then yellow or red cards should be given as if the incident was seen during the game.

Equally, if a player has been yellow or red carded in a game when another player has dived or feigned injury, then they should have these sanctions rescinded.

YES Wayne
Especially those players who deliberately try to get another player sent off by play acting (E.G. Thierry Henry grabbing in face in France v Spain game pretending Carlos Puyol had elbowed him)
I think that kind of cheating, where it is to fool the Ref into getting another Pro sent off, the cheat should be Heavily Fined, Suspended for future International games (possibly club matches too). But if it was my decision I would have sent Henry home from Germany in DISGRACE.
That would soon stop these cheats.
I used to think Henry was a great player but after seeing him do that in the Spain game and some of the diving he has been doing since, Most noticeably against Brazil I have gone right off him as a player.
I cannot stand cheats especially when it's aimed at getting another player sent off

I posted a similar quesiton, and I think by all the answers I got which was quite a good response, showing lots of people are fed up with this fadulant diving, and injury fakeing, that I came to the conclusion, the best suggestion is the sin box.
like in ice hockey when you have a power play, that is when a player is sent to the sin bin for 2 minutes and the other team now have a full squad of 5 against 4, so too in soccer they should be sent for 10 minutes in my reckoning. as cards are not sorting it out, and the referees couldn't run a tap let alone a soccer match.

What FIFA *should* do is give referees the option of going to camera footage replays to review such cases because it could spare an incident like happened to Rooney unfairly (despite the fact I think he's a tool) and players found to be diving should then get an automatic red card.....oh and let's throw in a penalty kick to punish the team as well.

yes if it is clearly and without doubt proven they should fine and suspend players . But a fine too a player is maybe just one weeks pay which is probably more than I will earn in the next ten years I think maybe a sportswear endorsement ban would hurt more !

yes they should give out cards after the game the same way they thake cards away.

If after the game they show that a player say Ronaldo for example or Robben dove, then they should be given a yellow card and a fine, and if this results in them missing the next game then so be it.

It is the only way to stamp out theatrics

Yes absolutely. Particularly to use video retrospectively for punishment. Some of the play acting has been apalling.

They already have the facility to do this. But there are too many inconsistency's in the application of the rules. But, to answer your question, yes.

They should.
but in that case half of criminal Italian team and half of scumbag Portuguese team would be suspended. FIFA had not grown balls big enough yet.
