Depends on where you want to go in that outfit. If it's for work or religious services, a classic suit in a pastel or vibrant color will work as will a dress and jacket. I'm 58, and I call those types of clothes "my uniform." They never go out of style, and they're easily accessorized.

Ann Taylor Loft. I used to work there and we had a wide age range of shoppers, but it was a good place to figure out a good contemporary style without being slutty.

You should go to Gap or talbots.they are a little pricy, but good quality. i also recomend calvin klein and anything at a department store.
