I am 38 weeks and I went to the doctor today and he said I'm 2 cm dialated and he said to make my next appointment for 1 week "If I Need It". So I'm guessing he thinks she'll come this week. How fast do you progress once you are 2 cm dialated?? How much longer do you think I have now?

1-5 takes anywhere from a few hours to several days! I would wait a few days, but she's definitely going to come soon. I know of some women who are hospitalized at two centimeters and wait there until they have their baby.

Good luck and congratulations! :)

I was 3 cm dialated for a couple weeks. It just depends. The baby will come when it comes. If it takes too long, they may induce. Wanna hurry things along? Have sex. Thats why our daughter was 2 weeks early. Didnt mean for that to happen! lol. Even being already 3cm dialated didnt help to hurry things along tho. Gettin busy started the labor, but it lasted 38 hours! Probably would have been longer, but they had to break my water, vacuum her head, and give me one nasty episiotomy to get her out. After bein in labor a couple of days, both of our heart rates were dropping. Just dont worry about it. It will happen the way that it is supposed to. BTW, if you are considering an epidural they dont hurt! In fact, I didnt even notice when they put it in. If youre in labor a long time, they are a god-send! Best of luck!

I so wish someone could answer that for you. Just hang in there for a little while longer, I know each day seems like a week right now. Time never passes slower than in the final weeks of pregnancy. I know my 3rd son was 4 weeks overdue before they induced me. Thank God they don't let women go that long now. Usually a long walk helps, I ended up taking Castor oil to get me going with my other two boys, but I would check with your doctor first it is really hard on your body. Good Luck and Congratulations on your new addition.

Every woman is different. When I was 2 cm I had to go in 2 weeks later to have the water popped and take medication to bring my contractions on. Like I said everyone is different. My friend who just had a baby was 2 cm and delivered the baby less than 24 hours later.

You know the old saying a watched pot never boils..... Quit watching your cervix.

The more you concentrate on your dialation the longer it will seem to take in your eyes. Concentrate on the peopkle around you and don't worry so much about how many centimeters you are. Some women are in labor for 30 min, and some almost 24 hours or more. I's impossible to predict.

Depends. I was 2cm and within 20 mins, I was 10cm. Just stay in tuned with your feeling of needing to push and keep the contractions timed. If you have contractions every 15 mins, go to the doc just so you can be there in case things progress very quickly.

Well it really depends on your lifestyle... Are you an active person or one who likes to lay in the ac all day (I perfer the ac)... It can also depend on if this is your first child or if you have had any before her, they say the first one takes the longst to be born... If you want her to be born asap I hear that having sex can help break your water but if you rather wait it out then I'd say within the next day or two you should have your daughter in your arms...

I was 36 weeks when my Doc told me I was 2 cm dialated.
My son was born 5 weeks later! There is no sure fire way to tell how much longer it will be. Hang in there!!!!

I was there for a week and wound up having a pitocin birth. My sister was at 2cm for a day. So, like so many things in pregnancy, it depends on the person. Hopefully, you will deliver in the next week or two! Congratulations!!
