I was just wondering...when I stand up I leak..I am 24 weeks pregnant. When I am sitting it is fine and I don't have to pee. Yesterday I peed and walked from the bathroom into the hallway and before I got back to the bathroom I had leaked enough that it left a wet spot on my pants. It isn't like a discharge .. it is like water/urine...should I be worried or is this normal? It only leaks when I'm standing and I just can't help it. It kinda feels like I am peeing myself slowly even if I just peed. Thanks!

I am only 6 months so it wouldn't be anything early labor related right? How do I know if it is urine or not? Thanks so much!

THINGS THAT CAUSE FLUID LOSS FROM THE VAGINA IN PREGNANCY
~thrush
~leucorrhoea normal milky heavy discharge when pregnant
~bladder, pressure on the bladder from the baby when you cough stand sneeze
~other vaginal infections
~ruptured membranes

Go to your doctor, ESSENTIAL<<<<<<< have a scan to check the liqour volume, have a vaginal swab to look for infection and make sure you are doing your pelvic floor excercises to help your bladder

Well Im not exactly sure what it is either but I have the same problem and I am almost 7 months pregnant now. But it is when I sit too. And my baby is seemingly perfectly fine. As am I. I suggest you should wear some sort of low absorbency pad or liner that is comfortable and absorbant enough to help prevent embarrasing leaks. Also sometimes you will have more of a discharge during different times in your pregnancy. It is thick sometimes, and very thin and watery like at other times. So it could be a number of things. As far as I know though, what ever it is, is is perfectly normal for us, albeit sometimes quite embarrasing! You could also try to strengthen you bladder by doing some tighting and loosing (kegel exercises) and you may want to try to double urinate, go pee but don't get up yet, sit for a few minutes and pee again even if it is just a drop before you get up. This way your bladder is emptied. But if you are concerned, have any bloody discharge, or a lot of flood discharged (i.e. "your water breaks") you should call a doctor. It is kind of odd for me to ask my doctor things, but I am slowly getting used to it. And the fact that he's male (oh and Canadian and sometimes hard to understand) makes it harder. Gotta love these pregnancy symptoms! No but seriously, it is all gonna be well worth it is the end. My husband and I get more excited every day!!! I am 19 and this is my first baby. It's a girl! Her name will be Brianna Nichole! How about you, do you know what yours is? Is it your first?

You're most likely leaking because of the preasure on your bladder. You can try doing Kegel exercises to strengthen your muscles down there.

If you're constantly leaking, and not just a couple of times a day, but more like continuous dripping, specially when you stand up, there is a small chance of a rip in your amniotic sac and you should call your doctor to have the discharge examined.

I would ask the doc, but yes that happened to me too, all 4 of my kids layed on my bladder, and yes sometimes when i walked it leaked out, my doc suggested that i try to move the baby when i went to the bathroom, so i could get it all out. it worked up untill i was ready to deliver. Just try to get the baby to move, when you pee it might help.

Just having a child i know your concern. Although it is normal for those muscles to relax to make room for your baby, it is always the safest thing to report new occurances such as those to your doctor immediately. It may be urine, but if its not, you don't want to wait. Good Luck.

Its probably just urine as you say..the same thing happened to me a little bit further along in my first pregnancy...I would, however, call your OB just to make sure...you wouldnt want to be losing amnionic fluid which could happen should there be a pin hole leak...

I think 24 weeks is to early of course I'm not a doctor so what you need to do is stay sitting and call your OB ASAP!!!! They will ask what does it look like (what color is it?) and is there any oder to it and is there bleeding even the most smallest sight of pink/red and you need to call no matter what....

The muscle in your bladder is being pressed against by the weight of your baby.It is normal if you are sure the fluid is urine.

Please go to the doctor! If your water is breaking then you probably will feel contractions soon. It could just be normal because the baby is right on your bladder. Wear panty liners or pads but definatly call your doctor today!
