Specifically, the people that support them. Reading some of the post on various boards, I've noticed some disturbing, repetative, hateful, narrow minded,pro-coruption items. Some of these people actually think that Fox news is a real news source.

What I'm asking is: are these people more interested in suppporting the party, then supporting the actual concept of what the United States stands for?

I actually heard a Repubican (I don't like to use neocon because to me 'republican' is a dirty enough word that says it all) say that we should eliminate welfare, eliminate social security, eliminate schools and just have christian ones, eliminate medicare and eliminate minimum wage.

I was shocked at such an extreme apathetic position that it motivated me to go off with a stream of brilliantly liberal questions. hehe

What those eliminations describe is Mexico. Basically they want us to end up just like a third world country.

Btw, there were a couple (not many) republicans who did reply saying they didn't agree with that view.

Perhaps this is a moot question. Instead of wasting time placating their zealot base by pushing against gay marriage, flag burning and the like, they are starting to realize that we have other things that need addressing. Some Republicans have already stepped forward and started questioning their direction. Those in mind are Chuck Hagel, Ron Paul and Walter Jones.
Now, I know the likes of Frist, Hastert, Roberts, Scalia and Alito have a lot of strength and make change difficult but the people are speaking up more and more. As we get closer to the election, those who aren't totally bought and paid for will start listening. Well, at least I hope so.
If we who can vote don't get out and DO IT, then we don't have reason to complain.

If I was a Liberal I would be afraid of Fox News too. No the real problem is the New York times they have no conscience. Printing our military secrets and the location of our Vice-presidents private home and the location of the security camera.

How do you feel about North Korea aiming missiles at the American people. How are you going to feel when they launch and America can not retaliate because whiners like you are in the dark. How are you going to feel when they NUKE us as they have threatened. So smoke your 420 and drink your 40 oz. Get an education.

Clearly, they are more interested in supporting the party and maintaining power, but the democrats are no different.
