Just curious. Heard a lotta people say that they're gonna watch a certain show on broadway for the second or third time, do they have to buy another ticket? I know the question sounds stupid, but it's hard to believe that someone would pay let's say another 60 bucks (at least) to see a show that they've seen. Or is there a discount for multiple visits?

If only! But, no, you must pay every time you go. Just like a movie.

There are discounts available, though. TKTS in Times Square offers steeply discounted tickets for the day of the performance.

By the way, if you know of a Broadway show that only charges $60.00, will you let me know? (ha, ha!)

Also, there's no such thing as a season pass to a Broadway house. There are theatre companies that offer season packages (Manhattan Theatre Club, Roundabout, etc.), but that entitles you to go to several, or even all of the shows in a season, for a discounted price - not to go back to see the same show.

There are ways to get discount tickets, which make it easier to watch a show several times. And no, you don't get a discount for multiple visit, but sometimes you can get discounts codes. There is a place called TKTX, if I'm not getting the name wrong, on Times Square where you can get tickets for shows on that same day. You wait until about 4pm and then can buy the tickets at half price or so.

Some people see Broadway shows more than once because the cast changes.

No, you don't get a discount for multiple visits to a Broadway Show, unless they are offering some sort of special. In which case you would see it advertised.

For some people, going to a Broadway Show is a social experience. They do it so they can mingle with "their crowd," and to be seen with all the important people: it is a status thing.

There are other people who really like a show and want to see it several times. After all most Broadway Shows don't make it to the movie theater, and if they do then they are not as exciting as a live show.

There is no discount for multiple tickets to any Broadway play. You pay full price each time. If a play is a long-running play, you may see different actors each time you go to see it. Yes, it is expensive. Few can afford such luxuries. Those who can are very fortunate. That's why cds and videos are wonderful for us common folk!

we had to pay for the 2nd time we saw Les Miserables. I don't think there is a discount. that would be nice though! but if there was that means they would have to track who you are and stuff, rather than say just walk up to the box office, buy a ticket with cash, and just show up.

Yes some of us are lucky enough to afford tickets to the same shows. The key is to get the discount.

www.broadwaybox.com ...amazing site. The shows are listed on the right side of the screen.

Watching a show is not like buying the DVD. You can watch the DVD as many times as you like. If you want to watch the show again, you have to pay again.

you would have to buy new tickets. the only way you get a discount is to do a season pass.

Yes, another ticket must be purchased.

For many people, $60.00 is NOT a lot of money, especially, if it is spent on something they enjoy.
