You may have developed a shellfish allergy -- it's one of the most common allergies developed as an adult. See an allergist and get tested. And avoid all shellfish until you do get tested, you could have a worse reaction next time (you don't want your airway closing up or anything awful like that).

Your oviously allergic to something. Go to the doctor and get an allergy test to know for sure. If you are allergic to shrimp that does not mean that you are allergic to all seafood. But it does mean you are more likely to be allergic to other shellfish. Like I said you should just go to hte doctor, the test is easy.

If you broke out in itchy welts, that's most likely hives, signifying an allergy, yes. You have about a 50% chance of being allergic to all shellfish. My suggestion is to stock up on benadryl and experiment a bit with other shellfish (lobster, crab, crawfish). Not too much, though. Don't want to go into anaphylactic shock.

it's very possible. to be sure, i would go to a doctor who specializes in allergies and run some skin tests. they place the possible allergen and see if u react to it.
if u are allergic to shrimp, it's possible that u are allergic to other seafood...but without knowing what it was in the shrimp, it's hard to say for sure. but if i were to guess...possibly lobster or crawfish. fish, clams, mussels will probably be ok. who knows...maybe it might depend on where the shrimp is coming from...maybe u r actually allergic to something in the ocean that the shrimp is from.

You probably are allergic to seafood. You should not eat this anymore and call your doctor. The doctor can do a bloodtest to see if you are allergic to seafood, of any kind. If you continue to eat shrimp or seafood you are putting yourself in great danger. See a doctor for advice.

Umm if it is the 2nd time then you are probably allergic to shrimp but for all seafood i dont know...probably not all. There might be some where you have a reaction, but it would be weird if you were allergic to all of them.

this has happened to my sister and it means you are allergic to shellfish. shellfish allergy is VERY dangerous, so please go to your Dr. and let them know what has happened and they will be able to confirm whether you have this allergy or not. the Dr. will give you exact instructions on what you can and can't eat...but to give you an idea, you will be able to eat fish, but no shrimp, lobster, crab, clams, etc. with shells. its very important you stay away from these foods because your throat can close up and you could die if you consume too much of it. why it is also important to do to the Dr. is that they will be able to prescribe you what is called an epi-pen. it is a shot of adrenaline, basically, which will stop the allergic reaction in case you accidentally eat some shellfish. good luck!

Until you get tested, it is not wise to eat either shrimp or shellfish. You may have a deadly reaction next time!
