My best friend of nearly 3 years just recently reported that her mothers boyfriend has been molesting her. DHS came and took her and her older sister away and placed them in the care of their grandparents. She's just recived news that her mother boyfriend hung himself in the back yard of her childhood house. What do I say to her, to help. Is there anything I can do to help. I feel so useless.

all you can do is be there 4 her. make sure to let her know that people out there care 4 her. people love her. and explain to her that with out her here, it would be a living hell. (or whatever you possibly feel) and to be suicidal is self. if she doesn't care or thinks that no one else cares then just snap her out of it!

i know you can do it!

try to listen to anything your friend wants to share with you, and always assure her that she should not blame herself for others actions, be by her side, and if you suspect that she might be too depress or too sad that she might commit suicide or run away, make sure you talk to her mom or her grandparents so they can keep an eye close to her, the most important right now is to give her support and try to help her regain her self steem and confidence.
maybe planning activities like going to the park, mall or movies will help her think of other things rather than all the problems she is going thru right now, and don't seem to go away.

Tell her that you are there for her no matter what. Don't force her to talk about it, but let her know that you are there to listen when she wants to talk. Tell her that nothing is her fault and no one blames her.

People kill themselves for one reason only: They have more pain and less ways to cope with it. Make sure she knows that you are a way that she can cope. Remember, don't patronize her and don't pretend to know exactly how she's feeling. Only she knows.

Wow, that's crazy. I'd just try to be the best friend that you can be. Make sure that she knows that there are people who love her (you, her family, etc...). You can't do much to make the situation any better, just try to make her happy and comfortable for the foreseeable future. Hang in there!

Get to a suicidal help line immediately....this should be taken seriously. Her life could be in danger in my opinion and she may balk at first but be grateful later.

she is going to need some serious counselling, other than that hi ho the molestor is dead at least she doesn't have to worry about that anymore. best you can do is be supportive and encourage her to seek professional help in dealing with all of this.

Just try to listen and be supportive.

Don't try to steer her. I am sure she has many conflicting feelings right now.
