Rock n roll will never die, but rock n rollers do...i don't know the reasons why...I just know it's true. Rock n roll is here to stay, but rock n rollers pass away...
...Steven Banks
Rock isn't dead, though in America it's been dying since 1993 with the decline of MTV and RIP to the headbangers ball. There aren't enough bands like Tool, Rob Zombie, Gwar & Godsmack to keep the true traditions and sound of arena rock alive. Thank goodness for the resurgence of 80's metal bands or almost all would be lost!
We could use a European metal invasion like we had 20 years ago which spawned an awesome decade of rock! Red rover, red rover...send Therion, Cradle of filth & Lordi right over!
I've met some great local acts here in the us.... Echoes of Eternity...Gretchen etc... Hopefully they'll make it up the food chain and save us all!
Amen.

You hear 2 dead guys? Don't know what you mean, but no, I don't think rock is dead. Sure, it has changed ... well ... a lot, but it's still there and a lot of it has the same meaning.

What you think is rock, isn't.
True rock is not dead, but certain "popular" mainstream artists are ruining its image. The same can be said for punk.
The music is not dead, you just aren't listening to the right stuff.

you mean the Marilyn Manson song, "Rock Is Dead"??
that song rocks baby!
there is a verse, it goes something like this:
rock, rock is dead, rock, rock it's all in your head..
lallalalalalala! rock!
one thousand mothers are praying for air..
your sex and your dope..
well anyways, the rythym is the best thing going for that song. i like the electrical guitar work on it.
it was played by a guy named Twiggy Ramirez

No no no....rock isn't dead. It just had too many shots of tequilla last night and now you can smell the results through a concrete wall.

of course rock isn't dead.
here's a pretty popular band from canada that's really good:
Metric!
www.ilovemetric.com
i love em
you might not like them.... but there are lots of bands out there that probably do what you like, because so many people are into making music these days.
you just have to dig a bit and listen to as many different bands as you can. eventually you'll find something you like.

Rock will never be dead. Although, it is quite impossible for a non-living thing to die.
