If it is severe enough, hire a professional. Molds can be toxic and dangerous to your health. If you have minor mold in your shower, just buy a bathroom cleaner that targets mold.

First you have to find the source of the water that is allowing the mold to grow. This has to be done first before you try to clean anything. Once you have determined the source....leaking roof, broken pipe, water soaked insulation due to a flood.....repair or remove the source. If the mold is just on the surface of the wall or other hard surface then using any cleaner (check the label directions) should be OK. High moisture areas like bathrooms should have powered vents to remove excess moisture to the outdoors. Do not vent it into the attic. When the weather turns cold the moisture will condense onto the attic insulation and cause you more problems.
If the mold is in soft material like fabric I would toss it.

Good Old House Hold Bleach.
Ventilate the bath or room with a fan at the door or open window. Make sure the surface is dry first then apply a spray bottle of bleach to the surface directly. Do not dilute. Do not breath directly the vapors. I will kill the mold within minutes.

Your solution lies in a bottle of chlorine bleach. Make a mixture of half water and half bleach and spray it on the mold to kill it. Then wash it off, and the mold will disappear. Done once a year, this can extend the life of the paint on your house.

Hospitals use UV lights, you can clean and kill mold with an ozone generator, UV lights, there are a few chemical agents that kill mold depending on the surface it is on, and an industrial strength bleach can kill it. You must first eliminate the source of the moisture, dry it up with a dehumidifer, then kill it off.
