Ortiz was injury prone during his time in Minnesota and couldn't play a defensive position well enough to take a roster spot away from somebody who could stay healthy and also field. He was definitely not a Tom Kelly favorite, either, due to his frequent injuries and his less than intense approach to the game while a Twin.

Because he devoloped his talent in Boston. They tought him a new way to bat, and he really caught on and put up some very good numbers and led them to a World Series.

The reason the Twins got rid of him, is because they could do anything with him. The Red Sox came up with a plan and put his talent to use.

Because their manager (Tom Kelley) thought that Ortiz couldn't hit. He must be blind and stupid...

He didn't want a pull hitter with power - only spray hitters and no power.
