I have planned a trip to Wild Rivers with friends. On Saturday I got my period and we are going to Wild Rivers on Wednesday. My periods usually last a week long. How can I go in the water?

Obviously, you could use tampons if you will be able to take frequent breaks to change them... If you will not have the opportunity you could try to use something that is called a menstrual cup. You insert it and it holds the fluid until you can change it. They have both disposable and reusable. I have only seen the "Instead" disposable cup available... and beware if you choose this it can get messy when changing. The positive side is that you don't have to worry about a tampon which might leak. The cup would have to be extremely full to leak.

just insert a tampon and you are ready to go. Tampons are great for swimming. I use playtex and to me they are the best.
If you have never used tampons then the only thing that you should know is that some cannot use tampons because their bodies won't let them. my sisters and mom cannot use them becuase tampons bother them.

Tampons are okay for swimming. If you're going to be in for a length of time. Change it every few hours.

I totally agree with the other two answers. If you have not yet used tampons, read the instructions, to make sure they are inserted fully, so it is totally comfortable.

Then have fun.
