I'm interested in buying a Cavalier. What year is the best to buy in terms of replacement/aftermarket accessories? Engine repair? Body repair?

I currently own a 1999 Cavalier, but to put on aftermarket accessories, I would go for the 2003-2005 Cavalier with the 2.2L Ecotec I4. Or, if you want to stick with my year of Cavalier, get the 1999 Cavalier Z24 with the 2.4L Quad Cam I4. My own Cavalier has 216,500 miles on it so I wouldn't do anything to increase the power of the engine due to the fact that it will blow up. But if you get a Cavalier with lower miles on it and you take care of it, the car will will last a long time for you.

I've had an '86 and an '89. The '89 was worthy of the nickname "Crapalier." The '86 was it's cheap replacement. It leaked coolant like no tomorrow and the body rusted, but the thing just wouldn't die and never left me stranded. The car was still running great when I gave it away a few years ago to a co-worker in need of a vehicle.

1992: bar none. Mine ran like a finely tuned top--up to 2002. Only reason I sold mine was to buy a larger vehicle.

95+ would be the best. they use the same body parts up to 1999, then with minimal mods, go to 04. then go to
