Oh yikes, you're telling my story. Can I hug you and tell you I literally do feel your pain?

First of all, is your doc a gynocologist? If not, you have GOT TO see one for this. (And my personal opinion, find a female doctor or nurse practicioner - they tend to be more sympathetic.) This issues at stake might not be something a simple exam will be able to find. And no, it might not be something huge or extreme.

If pain pills aren't helping, you need to talk to your doctor about options. My doctor and I tried several different routes for me over 2 or 3 years before finally prescribing me birth control pills. I wasn't happy about them - who wants to take a pill daily? - but it finally was the solution for me. There are options, and you don't have to suffer. Since you are 16, your body is developing a rhythm for itself and I doubt it'll change any time soon.

In the meantime, try this website: www.takingbackthemonth.com About 5 years after getting the pain issue under control, I starting having emotional PMS issues. My doctor was very helpful, but she kept telling me I had to check out this site and read this book. I finally did, and there's a lot of good information in it.

Get some professional help. Get your Mom to help you. No woman should have to spend time on her back cuz of her period.

I think it is definelty time to see another doctor. You could have endometriosis, if you don't know what that is google it and you will get plenty of results telling you all about it. Don't worry, it is not fatal or anything. For some it is just really really painful. I have it and I just have to live day to day and try my best. But if it isnt that it could be cysts on your ovaries or anything else. But let no doctor tell you that it is normal. But hun, I know how you feel, I have endometriosis and I hurt everyday, and during my period it is worse. I started having the same symptoms when I was 15. I started my period at 13 and there was no pain til I was 15. Some days I can't get out of bed. If you ever need to just vent or talk or anything feel free to email me or IM me. :)

You could ask your doctor about birth control pills. A lot of the pills today are designed to decrease cramps and make your period shorter and less often, like every 3 or 4 months.

Get a female Oby/gyn. they're more sympathetic to us. Some people finds relief in using oral birth control. Ask your mother to please be your advocate in seeking relief from this. Birth control pills doesn't means that you'll go out and have sex. The pill readjusts the hormone levels that the menstruation's may be causing. Good luck , dear.

You should go to an ob/gyn, so they could check you out. Try asking for medication for anti inflammatory pills. Usually inflammation causes pain.

I think I'd try another doctor hon. Sure all women have cramps and sometimes really bad ones. But for you to be in so much pain you can't leave your bed isn't normal. Please go see another doctor.
