1921 Pulitzer Prize winning work The Age of Innocence by Edith Wharton was above all my favorite novel, because it was simply a work of art.
The characters are so mesmirizing and complex, but yet easy to sympathize with. You just get so sucked into the intricate and heartbreaking plot of a love affair between two people who have the vision to see beyond their ignorant society, but cannot leap past it.

There are so many amazing books. I read three or four a week. If you're a sophisticated fiction reader, try Paula Fox's "The Western Coast" or any comic novel by Elinor Lipman. For history, Barbara Tuchman's "The Proud Tower." And for a truly eye-opening view of modern society, Peter Berger "Introduction to Sociology."

Teen book- Twilight by Stephanie Meyer. A vampire love story. Girl meets and falls for vampire, not your everyday vampire story. Was really good!
Great read for anyone-Year of Wonders by Geraldine Brooks. This is one of those books you would never expect to like and end up loving everything about it. Great story, characters etc!!! It is about the Black Plague and a small village that quarantines itself. Sounds odd, but truly a great book!

My favorite book is "Les Miserable" by Victor Hugo. I find the story of redemption and forgiveness spell binding and much needed in todays society.
