It was announced at CES that Comcast and TiVo were jointly working on an HD TiVo Box (Series 3) that was due out sometime in 2006. This was the last post on the topic that I know about => http://www.engadget.com/2006/02/16/tivo-series-3-hd-dvr-in-beta/

What month will the box be available to Comcast subscribers?

You are mixing up two separate things -- the TiVo Series 3 and TiVo's joint development with Comcast of new Comcast DVR services.

1) There is no specific date yet for when the TiVo Series 3 will be available other than later this year. Speculation is September / October time frame. But, given all the slips this year in the consumer electronics arena (Windows, Blu-Ray, HD-DVD, ...) who knows for sure?

The TiVo Series 3 is not Comcast specific. The CableCard interface(s) should work with any cable company that supports the OpenCable CableCard 1.0 standard.

2) The joint development between TiVo and Comcast is for upgraded services, possibly for existing or new model Comcast Motorola HD DVRs. The promise is a better interface and more services. The hardware will not be TiVo hardware (the TiVo Series 3 IS Tivo hardware). This, in part, due to deals that the cable companies have with Motorola and/or Scientific Atlanta/Cisco. This TiVo service will most likely be a premium service for Comcast customers. This new Comcast TiVo service appears to be in Beta now (found it with a Yahoo News Search):

Tivo Series 3 isn't even available as a standalone box yet. I'm betting we'll see HD Tivos in time for Christmas.
