No, the Reciever should get YACs and the QB should get 10 yards.

But in a QBs defense, they also shouldn't get credited for dropped balls or catchable balls that go incomplete.

First, It's not possible to have a 100 yard pass play, only 99 yards. The zero yard line in the goal line so a ball spotted their would be in the end zone. Second, outside of using instant replay for each pass, there is no good way to precisely spot where the receiver catches the ball since the play is still in progress. Any such judgement would have to be a subjective call by a spotter. Good luck trying to do this in high school or small colleges.

you do make a point. but the receiver is also dependant on the QB. what if the QB throws it 100 yards and the reciever catches it in the endzone. does that mean he should only get the TD. the receiver actually does have it better than the qb because he has total yards and YAC. but the QB only has total yards. so if the QB throws 10 and the receiver runs 90 hte receiver gets 100 yards and 90 YAC while the QB only gets 100 total yards.

I agree whole heartedly with you. The QB should not get all those yards. The reciever has to run all the yards so he should but many a time I seen a QB just do a little dump pass and the reciever runs it all the way and the QB gets the yards. Just don't make sense to me.

I agree with you. The QB should be credited with 10 yards and the receiver with a 90 yard touchdown run. Maybe some exceptions can take place if it's a hail mary pass and an unbelivable play that he gets credited with the pass and what it was run for.

Football is more than stats. Ignorant people look at how many passing/rushing/receiving yards they have or don't have, or how many sacks/tackles/INTs they have or don't have and base their decisions about their ability off that. If it was purely stats-based, guys like Nnamdi Asumogha, Patrick Willis and Haloti Ngata would not be considered great. Look at the flipside: Cam Newton racks up a good amount of yards and TDs, yet the Panthers only have 2 wins.

What they do is credit for work accomplished. The QB gets credit for throwing a good pass. The runner gets credit for the yards run before a tackle. The runner then gets credit for the touchdown because he was the one who ran it over the goal line. Team effort; individual recognition. Isn't that how it should be?

No do not agree....
The quarterback takes a lot of punishment back there and if he threw it to the guy and he for 1 yard and the receiver goes 99 more the QB should get credit for it all as should the receiver.......

It's the name of the game... it's a team sport at the end of the day... receivers help pad a QB's stats, the same way an offensive line man pads a running backs stats by opening holes and not getting any credit...

that is such a good point! wow never thought of it that way. But the QB sets the reciever up by trying to throw it where he can run extra yards so its a assist kind of.
