my wife is upset because I chatted online and was looking at profiles. am I wrong in doin so? It isnt like I am cheating on her

It may or may not be wrong, it depends on what you are looking at. But, if your wife gets upset and you care about your wife, then stop. What is more important, a few cheap thrill over the internet or your wife. How would you feel if she really got into the internet like you are --- don't tell me that, I know you would be upset, all men think they can do what they want, but their wifes had better not.

I think that it depends, just chatting about normal stuff is not but when you establish a relationship with a person online then it starts to cross that line. A basic rule of thumb I would give is if you would say something when chatting that would not say with your wife by your side then there is something wrong with it.

Depends on your definition of "cheating", doesn't it. Biblical cheating would require intercourse.
Going on line, looking at profiles, chatting, etc. shows dissatisfaction with what you have right now. It also shows desire for, if not the act of, cheating. Your wife feels threatened. She also feels that you are cheating on her emotionally and mentally.

I would feel like he was cheating on me. I would probably break the phone and put blocks all over the computer, pack his bags after a few days, change the locks and look in the mirror and say to myself....Good Job!!! These are women he met online right? Not old friends.

Well why was you looking at profiles?If my husband chatted with women on line i would be mad to. Alot of married people get a divorce because people met people on line.So i can see where she is coming from.
