While deployed, combat pay is deposited into the enlisteds account, they have make shift banks on base for the enlisted, but their cks are deposited into their accounts as usual. If you are still with your husband and have access to his check account then you have money. No, they do not send wives seperate checks.
Family seperation pay is issued after they get home in either 1 or 2 enstallments.

The soldiers pay is direct deposited into an account. When soldiers are deployed they typically receive combat pay, and no taxes are deducted. Usually, soldier husbands are required to complete a power of attorney, giving signing power to the wife, for the length of the deployment. He could elect to have the money go elsewhere, and have someone else as power of attorney, but eventually his commander would get a call and he would have to take care of his family.
