You should report them anyway. I'm not sure if the idiots would stop asking those questions since usually the questions get removed regardless. The idea of getting points for reporting abuse has come up in the Yahoo! Answers user forum before, though, and is an interesting concept. You can get there by clicking on the Forum link in the upper right of this page. You may be able to find previous discussions also if you search for something like: points for reporting abuse.

well if they do that, then you want earn any points for it, but I report them anyways, my biggest problem are those who want to argue my question when its a simple ?, most of the time I lay out how it should be answered, the other ones i hate is that person who says get a life, or try to insult me because I'm curious about something doesnt mean you have to be offensive, the other is the one who has problems with my spelling. The thing is, and what Im adding to each question,
if you dont have nothing to further my question, if you have to comment on my spelling, and if you dont understand the question, then dont answer simple.......if you do i will report abuse

I think EnlightenME illustrates the issue nicely. Anybody who would report abuse for being told to get a life should get a life, not two points. Awarding points might lead to more trivial complaints, and make the moderators' job that much harder. I'm sure the really offensive posts get lots of reports already.

No to the points for reporting, it will lead to abuse. Some will report the slightest infraction. I report all the time only takes a minute, but if I'm not sure if real wrong I don't do anything. Called common sense.
