I use jwspamspy and it does a very good job. Gets almost all the junk and virtually never blocks anything legitimate. Only works for Windows POP3 clients though.

I always found that the best place to download almost anything off the internet is Download.com. Also a good reference for general computer questions is helpmerick.com

try www.download.com usually has some good free software, unless your internet provider offers one
