I like them in moderation. I'd have to say my favorites are all the Jimmy Stewart ones, as well as Joan Fontaine, Humphrey Bogart,Elizabeth Taylor, and Greer Garsonones. I like to watch them before going to bed because they relax me.

"Casablanca" and "The Maltese Falcon" for Bogart;

"Harvey" and "Mr. Smith Goes to Washington" for Jimmy Stewart;

"Rebecca" and "Suspicion" for Joan Fontaine;

"Goodbye Mr. Chips" and "Mrs. Miniver" for Greer Garson.

The only B&W movies I know for Liz Taylor are "Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf?" and "Suddenly, Last Summer" (that one's kinda creepy at the end).

I would also recommend "Gaslight" with Ingrid Bergman and "Dark Victory," Now, Voyager," and "The Little Foxes" with Bette Davis.

Black and white movies are the best. Some of my favorites are:

--The Best Years of Our Lives
--12 Angry Men
--Rebecca
--The Desperate Hours
--Laura
--Some Like It Hot
--Harvey
--His Girl Friday
--Arsenic and Old Lace
--Every Girl Should Be Married
--A Patch of Blue
--It Should Happen to You
--Letter to Three Wives
--Born Yesterday
--The Philadelphia Story
--Mr. and Mrs. Smith
--People Will Talk
--Inherit the Wind
--Too Young to Kiss
--Two Weeks with Love

I'm a big fan of movies starring Audrey Hepburn, Cary Grant, Jimmy Stewart, Joan Fontaine, Dana Andrews, Judy Holliday, Carole Lombard, Van Johnson, Peter Lawford, June Allyson and Gene Kelly. So many movies have been colorized these days, it's hard to tell which ones were originally black and white.

It Happened One Night, The Philadelphia Story, Its a Wonderful Life, Mr. Smith Goes to Washington. But really anything with a young Clark Gable, Cary Grant, and Jimmy Stewart. Oh yeah, Gunga Din.

the killers (1946) and Kiss Me Deadly (1955). Two of the best film noir movies around.

I also agree with Beat Nick about Metropolis. The restored version is magnificent.

I love old movies, tv shows, music, I find them so fasinating! the wat things were then they seem so simple. Stuff fom Hollywood back then had some much more charcter and they really brought the story out more. I love Jimmy Stewart's "Call Nortside 777", that was a good one. i like Abbott and Coselleo Movies and Bob Hope movies are good to,
