have your parents cut your allowace and put it away in an account with no ATM!

Maybe they will match them money you save if it is for something like a car!

FRom experience i had the sat problem. So when i go anywhere i bring enough money for what i need like 20 at the most and you can also put ur money in the bank as in a savings account. Then you can do it a cheaper way and just get u a old show box and put some where is not easy to get to.

When you go shopping, don't take your money with you. That way, you can't spend it.

I use the envelope system. I have envelopes labeled different categories, such as "entertainment", "eating out", "clothing", "savings account", etc. You can put your allowance in those categories, and when the money is gone from that envelope...it's GONE. Don't go looking in other envelopes to get more money. That way you assure that you will always have money for everything AND save money as well.

Leave your cash at home. Or here's an idea. Set a goal, somehting you are saving your money for. Then have your parents hold the cash for you, saving up until you meet your goal. But dont cut yourself off totally. I'd take a couple of bucks out of the allowance, just to get me by for the week, so you dont feel dirt poor.

Get a savings account that one of your Parents is listed on with you,and put money in there 1st before any shopping...that way when you deposit the money it will not be able to be withdrawn except with your Parent's ok as well. This will make it not as easy to spend and when you do wish to withdraw money from your savings you will have time to think about whether you really want to do that or not.
Good Luck :)

Get your parents to open a savings account for you. Ask them to put half of your allowance into the savings account each time they give you your allowance. Then you will have half to spend on what you want, and half in the bank drawing interest. Ask your parents not to let you withdraw your savings for any spontaneous purchases. This works very well for my daughter.

get a piggy bank!!! sounds stupid when i say it that way but it really helps. every time you get your allowance, put a certain amount (half or 75% of something depending on how much you get) into your piggy bank, then you can use the other amount. only take small amounts of money (like $10-20 max again depends on how much you get) with you when going around places. before buying think to yourself "do i really need this?"

if possible, avoid shopping and then you won't see somethign that you need to buy!

Something That I have found to be helpful is go to the store with a list of what you NEED. If you see somethng you really want resist buying it. You'll save money and you won't have a lot of split second decision stuff lying around.

Pay yourself first...either get direct deposit and send 10 % or whatever amount you choose to a separate bank. Cut up your ATM card for that accoutn and dont ahve checks. This way, you have to go into the bank to access the account and get money. If you never see the money, you wont spend it. It will grow and grow!

Well look at it this way: if you see something that YOU MUST HAVE think this: i lived perfectly fine without it before, why would i need it now?

And give money to your parents to save. Maybe start a routine: only spend maybe 5 bucks a week i dunno. Depends what fits you. After awhile of this saving you can buy kool stuff. Maybe designer clothes or whatever girls like :D

Ask one of your parents to start one for you and then they can help you put money in it, but you cant go to the bank and get money out of your account without a parent being there.
