I have a husband and 3 boys.
My theory is:
I don't care if you leave the lid up or down BUT if I sit in pee, I will HUNT you down and KILL you!

I agree 100%. There is nothing worse than getting up in the middle of the night and sitting on the toilet and getting your behind wet. If that happens you had better watch me make dinner for the next few days in case I accidently put arsenic in it, lol.

I have worked out a compromise with my husband. He can leave the lid up during the day, because I really am just as capable as he is to put it down. But during the night when there is a greater chance I will fall in, he must leave it down. Most of the time, it works great.

I don't know about YOUR toilet, but the toilet in my mother's house is some kind of "valuables magnet" ... and oddly enough, the valuables it magnetically attracts always seem to be those of people who habitually leave the lid open. Yep, closing that lid seems to act as a barrier to the toilet's magnetic power to pull your favorite shirt into the bowl. Makes the bathroom more attactive looking too.

DOWN and CLOSE the lid, I read that a flush of dirty water sends tiny droplets from the bowl up to 6 feet in all directions so if your toothbrush is within 6 feet, it is possible for your toothbrush to be contaminated...YUK

Down, ofcourse, but give them a better reason to put it down. Not because of you (they won't do it) but because you afraid something might fall in it.....like a comb, brush...shaver....or corner of your towel can dip in while you drying after shower.....It works for me. I have two boys and a girl.
