To specify I mean if the mask were put on in an early stage before the animal had matured and was left until maturity, when the mask was removed would the face stay in the shape of the mask? The bones and such would conform to the shape if it remained on during growth - or would the face continue to grow and become contorted? If necessary assume the animal to be a homonid.

IF the animal survived, Yes it probably would have the shape of the constraining mask. HOWEVER, it may not be the exact shape, and other factors could cause final shape to be quite different from the intednded one.

Why be so cruel though?

Go to the zoo and steal a pregnant animal. Wait til they give birth and put a mask on them. If it happens as you think it should sell it on Ebay for $9999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999 dollars

Yes. In fact they used to do this to the babies of the "convicted" in Europe in the Middle Ages, so everyone knew that if you had a pointy head, your mom or dad was a crook.

There were a number of South American cultures that also formed newborns skulls into more "elongated" shapes, too, because they thought it was beautiful!

Yes. They used to grow circus freaks like that in Dark Ages - kidnap a kid, put him in a large jar and keep him there untill adulthood.

You gotta start real early with the face tho - heads do not grow that much.

I would think so. Because, the only room the face has to grow is what room is in the mask. So it would probably be deformed to the lack of room.

To some degree I think it would, however I think it would be an extremely cruel thing to do to an animal.
