- they got old (cafu, roberto carlos)
- they got fat (ronaldo)
- and they forgot to see the dentist (ronaldinho)
lol - let's get real:
there's only one reason why it's italy, germany, france and portugal in the semifinals. none of those teams started the tournament and proclaimed to become the world champion. the aussies and the swiss were more than happy to qualify for second round and said they would be able to go further, but where are they now? same thing with ukraine, oleg blokhin their coach said (after beating switzerland) that they would become world champs. argentina, spain and brazil are very well known for their very high self-esteem and arrogancy in tournaments, they always proclaim to qualify at least to the semifinals - and where are they now? not to forget mexico and england...
germany: even though they are a very strong team, they were underdogs when starting the tournament, they lost many friendlies and had the pressure of press on their neck (they were supposed not even to qualify for the second round) - and where are they now?
italy: they are called divas, cheaters, fliers, whatever, but they only got one goal (...and it was an own goal by the way!) from their opponents and never proclaimed to win something. they played their game like germany and concentrated from one game to another, and they overcame the pressure from serie a/juventus scandal, pessotto suicide attempt and press being a pain in the butt for the ref's pk that was given to them in the aussie match!
portugal: if there is a european underdog, then it's portugal (even though they are very strong), but they love the game, they play with passion and play for the team, not for press, not for marketing and not for 'hexa' in advance, they need no samba and no naked dancers in the audience, they play and win without ronaldinho magic (where was it by the way? hmmm, maybe he was thinking about his teeth getting fixed) but with class, grace, tactics and skills.
and then it's france: people were posting here at y!answers about zizou being old, having smelling feet, not being fast enough, arguing about henry (premier league's top scorer!!!) and viera, being unstable and old, but where is the grande nation now?!?
THESE 4 TEAMS PROOVED THE SHOW-OFF TEAMS WRONG!!!
let's get back to the game (football), one carneval per year is enough, and i'm glad it's in rio and not in berlin!!!

Aussies batted 1st scored 215 odd SL 2nd inn 12/0 wkts if match continued after the break target would have revised for something like 150 in 40 overs which would most probably seal a Sri Lankan victory (pitch wasnt like in the last match either) Then there was a 30 minite `DRIZZLE` according to Cricinfo.. after that players came out to the ground and they were practicing for 1 hour - cricinfo / sky sports suddenly they made an announcement was made saying that the match is cancelled ! Sky sports commentators were amazed by this and eventualy they were talking how the ex players and players in australia influence umpires on these matters " "Dont quite remember this happening in.. well, since I've been watching cricket. I simply imagine there are massive puddles and potholes my eyes cannot detect." - Cricinfo "Very unexpected news from the SCG, the game has been called off. Loud boos from an enthusiastic SCG crowd as they hear the news over the PA system. There's been no rain for 45 minutes, and it didn't rain for very long and it wasn't very heavy either. So I'm quite surprised by this decision" - cricinfo Ian Healee Asked CLark after the game , "The shorter the game gets more favour will Sri Lanka have. Is that the reason why the match was cancelled? lol

You know what... it was mostly intact at Germany 2006. And that is where most of Brazil's problems lay.
I mean, have you seen how Cafu and Roberto Carlos play? They simply STINK. That's because they are way, way too old for their positions (36 and 32 respectively). The Brazil coach Perreira made a big mistake putting them in the starting lineup when there were better young players like Cicinho and Robinho. He just didn't trust the younger players. And that is what sunk the Brazilian team against France. The beautiful team of 2002 was great during 2002 but not in 2006. That's because the team was TOO OLD!!

Brasil has a bunch of good players...they're just too busy working on their own images rather than working as a team.
France happened.

In that game they weren't playing like they meant it or wanted it. Also there's no "i" in Team but there's an "i" in Brazil.

Well... Ronaldo got FAT, so he can't run as fast.
Many people are leaving, too. Brazil's lost support and teamwork(no "I").
ZIDANE beat them up, too.
This can only mean one thing...
GERMANY IS GONNA WIN!!!
G IS FOR GREAT, G IS FOR GOAL, G IS FOR GERMANY!!!!
