The majority of Mexico's population are mestizo, which of course is a mix of white Spanish & Amerindian. Hard to say which part dominates but I would be inclined to say they are Amerindian-dominate mestizos unlike Costa Ricans, as an example, who are generally white or white-dominate mestizos. Mexican is their nationality. There is no Mexican or "Latino" race. The latter term, along with Hispanic, indicate ethnicity and linguistic-based culture.
So, for the majority of Mexicans, the short answer would be yes. Why they don't generally embrace their Amerindian roots is beyond me.

No. Mexicans are considered to be Mestizo, meaning a hybridity of Native Indians and Spaniards, but of course, there is also African and Asian blood mixed in as well.
