Yes divorce does truely affect children adversely. If the children are old enough to remember it is often worse as children look to their parents as role models for their future relationships. Divorce and the confusion that goes with it for a child can cause emotional and physical problems that can last for a life time.

Having your parents stay together for the wrong reasons doesn't make for a good life either. I wish my parents would have divorced. It was hell to see them constantly fight...and I mean fight..physically. It can really screw a person up. I would have preferred that they split up and find their own happiness...perhaps then I would have found my own happiness sooner...I just didn't know how as there was no love in their home. When you see your parents are happier and better people when apart, you'll feel better about their choice.

People can't blame their lives on their parents getting divorced. Sure it is a traumatic event that has some affect on a persons life but ultimately it is just one event and not the culmination of who they are. As a person you still are responsible for your own choices and finding your way in life. A person can loose their way in life just as easy without their parents being divorced.

most kids lose their way at birth. to much TV, ruins their little minds. in 100 years we'll be a dying race. if we don't smoke ourselves to death, we'll kill our self with drugs, alcohol, sex, or violence. i'll be dead by then, but the rest of you will be close behind.
