I aggree McLaren is rubbish - what has he ever done? If the FA had only waited untill afer the world cup, we could have got big phil scolari and done well in Euro 2008 and Fifa 2010.

Correct, He was 2nd in command, He was also 2nd in command to the most succesful manager in English football..Sir Alex Ferguson at Manchester United. In regards to acheivements in his career you are also correct in thinking he hasnt won much silverware..

Why?

1. He hasnt had the money to do so.
2. If you dont have the money you cant attract top players( money talks)
3. If you dont have the players you dont win the trophys
4. If you dont win the trophys you cant attract the players

After a few seasons of this it usally ends up in the manger getting the blame and getting the sack.

Why have I just explained that?

Because now Steve Mclaren has no club finances, player wages etc to think of and can fully concentrate on the playing side of things.

Personally I think it was a good choice to appoint Mclaren as manager as he will bring a sence of freshness to the side, and emphasise on the importance of pride while playing for England football team.

Dont Knock the man before he has even had a game in charge of the side. Give him a chance to prove himself buy qualifying for Euro 2008,, If this dosent happen then we can start to ask questions of his managerial skills.

I totally agree with you here
McLaren is in the same mould as Sven, In fact McLaren seemed to be doing more on the bench than Sven Borin Eriksson was
