With the most recent issue, I think they will roll back the shuttle to the VAB and replace the main tank.
4 July, 2006 - Looks like they will prove me wrong. As of this morning, they are continuing countdown and feel that this crack in the foam is only a minor issue. I hope that that what it really is.
4 July 2006 PM - I am glad they proved me wrong. It was a fantastic launch.

I do not think the the shuttle will launch because the tear in the foam is near the fuel line which is a critical area.

My personal opinion is that I don't think it will.
There seems to be a crack in the foam near a bracket that holds the liquid oxygen feedline. It was discovered after the draining of the external fuel tank. This is what broke up the last shuttle as it descended back to earth.

The shuttle will launch if the Weather is good and the shuttle is safe to go into orbit.

nicely I heard there replaced right into a crack interior the froth... or that must be for yet another holiday. At any fee, i think of Discovery shouldn't launch on July 4th. i could think of that secure practices runs severe on our united states's birthday. i've got faith it can be a extensive secure practices possibility to launch it.

No. One, there is a chance of storms. And two they are still debating the whole foam thing. I don't think they will launch until they are completely certain there isn't going to be a problem. And right not they are not certain about the foam being safe.

They'll proably make it work. MY question is: WHO in their right mind would get on it, knowing about the problems it was having?
