Our government has changed a lot since Rodney. I'm sure it will keep changing too. ...the problem that lies here...is this....
Certain people in the government are on a rampage to try and put down the people who really know the truth.
All anyone has to do is go on ebay....there you can find conspircy DVD's such as "Loose Change" "Loose Change second edition" Alex Jones "Martial Law" etc...
These DVD's are cheap too...maybe 5 or 6 bucks. The DVD documentary called "Loose Change" was put together by some college students from New York City. These boys did an excellent job of investigating and documenting the events of 9/11.
It includes many live interviews from people at the scene...and is quite thorogh.
The reason why so many people refuse to accept what really happned is because not enough people are buying these DVD's, making copies, and then sharing them with family and friends.
What really happened? Well....basically....to make a long story short.....
The two planes that hit the towers were empty and flown by remote control. Explosives were planted through out both towers over a two month period preceeding the attack. The real terrorist controlled the demolition from WTC building 7. Then later that afternoon they blew up building 7 to get rid of all the evidence.
A small military jet painted white shot a missle into the ground and we are supposed to believe that was flight 93.
Another simillar kind of jet flew in very quick and low towards the Pentagon but it didn't crash into it. It shot a Tomahawk cruise missle into the side of the building.
Who ever orchestrated and executed this major manuever didn't do all that good of a job....in my opinion....a lot of mistakes were made. Their plan had some holes in it....and if you look at the overall picture including the facts...it is indeed amazing that Bush is still in office. How?.......because........
They control and supress the media....and they are constantly jumping from one issue to the next meaningless issue in an effort to keep stringing us along with their act....and hopefully at the same time we will forget about what happened yesterday.
The whole thing is a very pathitic situation, and the games these people are playing is extremely dangerous. Bush needs to be detained in one of his own "Terrorist Prisons" Lock this man up for no reason at all. Hold him without bail. Deny him of any hearing or trial. Wire tap his jail cell.....and give this poor excuse for a President a taste of his own medicine! Amen Already!!

We coverup stuff a lot better. No video cameras. But seriously, I have changed. i don't participate in riots. I feel I am a better person for it. Also, the government didn't beat King. The police did. America is trying to keep the people safe by locking up about every other one for crimes extreme to mean. Seriously, I think we have almost as many prison inmates as iraq has citizens. It's actually kinda of sick. Rodney King was attacked horribly and with extreme and unnecessary violence. You blame the governement. Blame your society. Prejudice begins with what you see and begin to hate. Racial crimes are because our society is not evenly mixed. White people congregate in the same neighborhoods. Blacks do the same and Mexican and chinese and so on and so forth. These are where the hate crimes originate. The news reports them and an individual who never hated the race loses his/her job to one and the disgust and prejudice is carried to a new region like a dandelion seed in the wind. I used to be afraid of black people when I was young because I had never met one. As I grew, I was intimidated to talk to them because of the way they looked at me. When I moved to Memphis after my parents death I was drowning in a sea of black students. I however watched as the white people who had lived there all their lives and were comfortable with their race interacted peacefully. I now have many friends and acquaintances who are black. I broke the ice by being kind and was treated in the same manner. The government shouldn't have to make people be good to each other. The willingness for peace and happiness should. The government has changed. Your just looking at the wrong government body. This republic is "We the people...." you make the change and the government in Washington will follow. Not the other way around.

Our government has not changed at all, and any changes it makes will be superficial, because behind the government are still people with flaws, that aren't perfect, and that make mistakes. After the civil rights movement, the only thing that "really changed" was the elimination of overt racism. "covert" racism will never die.
Racism is defined as seeing one race as superior or inferior to any other race. The whites made a huge gap between themselves and blacks, and we all have to live with that now. That's why we need to stop acting like Martin Luther King was the best guy we had. Malcolm X was the most brilliant black activist there ever was, and you know why? Because he saw something that Martin didn't. Martin Luther King said if we show them that we can be at peace with one another, that through peaceful resistance they can't keep us down, and that we should all live as equals, then we shall overcome bigotry.
Malcolm X understood that you're never going to change in a series of events on TV what a child's Daddy has told him at the dinner table every night for the entirety of his life. Malcolm said, "Excellence is our answer." He believed that we can't spend all our time trying to change the minds of fools, (we lost so many of our best and brightest and still their fools remain), we have to change US. Make US better, make US stronger, make US smarter, and more motivated and more ambitious and more educated.
Our government will never change... it's run by the majority and that will always stay white. The question is how have we changed? When we as blacks can present a positive answer to that question, your question is no longer necessary.
I keep our people in my prayers, have a blessed day.

Rodney King has nothing to do with government. Maybe police forces.... I see a bit of a double standard though - he thinks it's ok to beat his wife, but if he gets beaten.... Yes, it was VERY wrong of the police to beat him. However, his personal history is NOT GOOD, and being made to look like a big hero is hypocritical.

Why should we change?
If we ran around trying to change our Constitution every time someone got beaten we would be spinning our wheels all day long.
You can put a gang of people, all kinds of people, in a pile and someone will get hurt, in some way, in some degree, for some reason, at some time.

The fraternal brotherhood always protects their own.
Look at New Orleans for an example, would nt protect the poor
but will send national gauard in to back up police.
I think we're becoming totally nazi around here.
And I'm a white girl
