I'm 4 months pregnant with twins, but yet I'm feeling pressure in my abdomen, and today I experience one of the worst contractions I have ever felt, and I've given birth FOUR times already. Has any other woman on here had this? How long did it last?

You need to call your doctor and let him/her know right away. I'm 38 weeks and my doctor told me that braxton hicks don't start until about the 7th month. You could be going into a early labor so you should get to your doctor right away so that they can try to stop it if thats whats going on.

I would really suggest going to the doctor. I had twins also, and never had contractions that early, that is a little scary. Hope everything turns out well and by the way congrats!

12 Things You Need to Know About Braxton Hicks

1. Get lots of rest. The real danger of these contractions is that they can disrupt sleep, which saps a woman's energy for labor.

2. Go to sleep later than usual. Babies are sometimes at their most active in the early nighttime hours, so it may work to adjust your bedtime to later, after the greatest period of fetal activity.
3. Rest lying on your side. When on her back, the uterus is more irritable and contracts more frequently. Resting with eyes closed is almost as good as sleep.

4. Graze. Eat around the clock, eating only small amounts each time.

5. Try decreasing dietary fiber. A diet that encourages a minimal response from the colon will keep the bowel a bit more quiet. Even though fiber is very good for you, try to decrease dietary intake for a while to see if that helps.

6. Drink lots of fluids.

7. Keep the bladder empty.

8. Avoid any nipple stimulation.

9. Avoid hot baths.

10. Look at your work. If your job brings you into contact with infants, this can cause sympathetic reflex contractions.
11.Consider contractions part of labor preparation. Though Braxton Hicks contractions are annoying and can rob a woman of much-needed rest, they do much to help prepare the cervix for labor.

12. Rule out pre-term labor. When associated with lower back pain, cramping, any vaginal bleeding, spotting or watery discharge, pains in the legs or anything else unusual, they may indicate pre-term labor.

Risk factors for pre-term labor include:

History of pre-term labor
Any cervical changes
Sexually transmitted diseases
Advancing maternal age
Hypertension or other maternal diseases
Substance use
Abuse
Multiple gestation.

I have 8 year old twins, you may be feeling pressure because of where they are sitting. I suggest that you lay down on your for awhile if the pains continue go to the emergency room. Your going to feel things that you haven't felt with the other four. My other suggestion is to call your doctor and see what he or she says. You have to be extra careful with twins.

You are probable just experiencing Braxton Hicks. Its okay to experience those. You're having twins, so there's two babies in there trying grow. When you have more than one your pregnancy is a little bit harder on you. If you cant go to your OB/GYN then you should at least call and let he/she know whats going on. GOOD LUCK

Don't u just hate these lllllllllloooonnnnnnngggg responses? God bless there heart they only trying to help.
But sounds like u need to call your doctor before u go down there and get the classical response of "Hey you've been through this before, u should know what to expect." Call and explain the problem and he'll let u know what he wants u to do.

Probably just Braxton Hicks, but you should call the doctor's office ASAP. You're at higher risk for complications when pregnant with multiples.

Yes, I did it too. First, make sure you are drinking enough water. And call your doctor to ask about medicine that can stop contractions. I had to take it for months. It helped alot, and for peace of mind it was wonderful!
