find music that you like, that takes your mind off the training.
when Im training, I listen to classic rock like the Beatles or the Doors, because I sing along and it takes my mind off the run. But before a big event I listen to classical because it helps me calm down and relax. Most running events wont let you wear headphones during the race because its a safety issue, so it helps me if I just relax before and just go.

Anything Fast and high pumped. None of these slow songs. Or depressing songs. Like remixes are good. Or the song Crazy Frog by Axel F. Anything with a beat.

Depends on your preferences. Every genre has something to move to - even classical.

From classical - try Beethoven's 5th - first or 4th movement (C. Kleiber), or 7th - 4th movement. Or Tchaikovsky's 4th symphony - 4th movement. Or William Tell Overture (Rossini) Those are energetic works (in the right hands)

From alt-rock - Husker Du is a personal fave - Flip Your Wig, Don't Want To Know, Visionary (different albums). Or Green Day - Hitching a Ride, American Idiot. Or Soul Asylum - Somebody to Shove, Without a Trace.

We will Rock and We are the Champions by Queen. I also like The Eye of the Tiger which was the theme to one of the Rocky movies.
